talkSPORT
In 2026, talkSPORT became the first ever UK commercial radio station to be an official broadcast partner of Commonwealth Games. We helped secure the broadcast rights and put together the multi-medallist team of Greg Rutherford, Christine Ohuruogu and Lewis Richardson for Glasgow 2026 live on talkSPORT from 23rd July, in association with BYD. Michael was in Glasgow providing live commentary on all the track and field events - calling home the historic mile victory by new world record holder Josh Kerr. Michael is talkSPORT’s longtime athletics correspondent and this was his fourth consecutive Commonwealth Games for the station. John was trackside at Scotstoun everyday interviewing home nation athletes, medallists and world stars as well as being across all the main headlines from around the City and updating listeners on talkSPORT throughout the day. He carried out 140 interviews over 10 days from athletics, boxing and cycling!
